Domain verification, an unsubscribe link, and testing before you send. Three habits that noticeably improve your odds of reaching the inbox.Domain verification, an unsubscribe link, and testing before you send. Three habits that noticeably improve your odds of reaching the inbox.

The Resend Dashboard#
Resend gives you a dashboard where you can do all of this.
- View sent emails. See every email your app has sent
- Check delivery status. Know if emails were delivered or bounced
- Monitor engagement. See who's opening and clicking (once tracking is on, more on that below)
- Manage domains. Set up and verify your sending domains
- View analytics. Understand how your emails perform
That visibility is HUGE. When somebody swears they never got your email, you can go check whether it was sent and delivered instead of guessing.
Setting Up Resend#
Here's how you get going.
Step 1. Create Account#
Sign up at resend.com. The free tier includes 3,000 emails per month (capped at 100 a day).
Step 2. Add Your Domain#
Add the domain you'll send emails from. Resend hands you some DNS records to add.
Step 3. Verify Domain#
Add those DNS records in your domain settings. That's how you prove you own the domain.
Step 4. Get API Key#
Generate an API key to use in your app.
Step 5. Send Emails#
Use the Resend SDK in your code and start sending.
Pricing#

Resend keeps pricing pretty simple. Here's what it looked like as of October 2026 (check resend.com/pricing for the current numbers).
- Free. 3,000 emails per month, max 100 per day, 3 domains
- Pro. Starting at $20/month for 50,000 emails
For most apps, especially early on, the free tier is plenty. Just know about that 100 a day cap, because a busy launch day can hit it way before you hit the monthly number.
Email Best Practices#
Step 1. Only Email People Who Expect It#
Never send emails nobody asked for. Only email people who signed up and expect to hear from you.
Step 2. Include Unsubscribe Links#
Every marketing email needs an easy way to unsubscribe. In a lot of countries it's literally the law.
Step 3. Keep It Simple#
Don't cram your emails full of images and fancy designs. Simple emails often land better anyway.
Step 4. Test Before Sending#
Send a test to yourself first. Check how it looks on mobile AND desktop... it's way less embarrassing to catch a broken layout in your own inbox.
TL;DR#
- Sending email reliably is surprisingly hard, so use a service like Resend
- Resend handles spam filters, authentication and deliverability for you
- You need your own domain to send emails
- Common emails include welcome messages, password resets, notifications and receipts
- React Email helps you build good-looking email templates
- The free tier allows 3,000 emails per month
This lesson ends with a short activity.
