# My Day, the technician app

> The installable technician screen, what it does offline, and the two ways to capture a measurement on site.

## My Day, the technician app

**My Day** is the technician's own screen. It installs to the home screen and behaves like an app, listing their visits in order with one tap to move each along. It opens with a day briefing so the first thing they see is what the day holds.

The shell keeps working through the dead spots that come with basements, crawl spaces and rural routes.

When a job cannot be finished, the technician says so with a reason rather than leaving it open, and the office sees why. They can also report running late with an ETA, or record a no-show. A return trip lands back in the unscheduled drawer instead of being lost.

### Measuring in the field

Two ways to put a measurement on a job, both behind the same button - "Measure" on a phone, "Add measurement" on a wider screen.

1. **Mark up a photo.** Works on any phone. Take or pick a photo, tap the two ends of what was measured, and type the number off the tape. The dimension is drawn onto the image itself.
2. **Apple's Measure app.** On iPhone, the helper panel walks the technician through switching to Measure, screenshotting the result and attaching it on return.

Measurement photos carry a small ruler badge on the job page's photo rail.
